IS MY PROBLEM SERIOUS?

Is there medical explanation?

How do you explain it?

My FBS is almost always under 126 but above 100. I check my blood sugar 2-3 hours after eating i.e. RBS, it becomes over 200 but under 230. Why?

someone said I could be pre-diabetic? rather I could already be diabetic. I am controlling it by diet. I say this because my FBS some 7 months before had gone 176-144 within 7 days. It was first 176, the next day 165 and some 5-6 days after it became 144. I stopped eating anything with too much carbohydrate, I stopped drinking beer etc and it constantly went down.

  1. In order to diagnose somebody with diabetes, one's FBS must be above 125.  A normal FBS level is less than 100. And the area between 100 and 125 is usually considered to be prediabetic or a case with an elevated blood sugar but not entirely diabetic.  Now, the first measures in order to control diabetes, especially those who are diagnosed primarily is lifestyle modifications.  These would include proper exercise and diet as well as quitting vices.  Now if these measures would work, then the patient does not need any further medical intervention, however he/she should go into regular check-ups to ensure that the blood sugar levels are maintained at normal or prediabetic levels.  If these measures fail, then medicines are needed in order to reduce one's blood sugar levels.
