    Rolled oats is made by taking whole oat berries or kernels and steaming them until tender and then rolling them flat between steel rollers under pressure.  Quick oats are rolled thinner and cut smaller so that they cook faster.  Instant oatmeal is thinner still.

    Plain rolled oats have no additives at all.  It is just 100% oats.
