  1. you could go to an expert and ask them to recover your data.

  2. The in side where the orignal Magnetic media is it is vacum, there is no air, only compan with specia euipment can open it, which can be costly like $3000.

but if the main board is damage and due to to this hdd is not working then an extact main board will do the trick

  3. the hard drive may have sticking point, a sharp tap onto the drive may be enough to unstick it, this is only a temporary fix though, the drive will stick again

  4. Thats not possible. If the disk does not spin up, it can not read any data from it.

However, I read from someone who bought an exact same disk and took it apart. then just put the disks in the new one. It worked in his case. I might even be able to find that article again, so look back here. I will post if as soon as I find the link.

Other than this "do-it-yourself" method, you would need to find a specialized company in data recovery. They should be able to do it easely.

OK, found the link again. Here you go: http://www.deadharddrive.com/

  5. yes but usually data recovery will cost a pretty penny depending on what exactly you need i.e. file, programs, etc. Also the amount of items can drive the price up considerably. Just to note: back up your information at least once a month especially anything you dont want to lose. Usually what they do first is try mounting the drive externally. From there if the information cannot be recovered then the money goes up. You can find most data recovery specialists close by so just check your local yellow pages under computers and look for data recovery.
