  1. No. But you should be aware of the thieves in trains. You should not carry any explosives or lpg cylinders.

  2. no there is n such rule

  3. No, there is no such rule.

  4. no you can do so

  5. You can carry anything and everything in Indian trains except some crackers /kerosine etc

But please make sure that some others dont carry that away from you at night

  6. No Such rule. You can use a laptop or any low power consuming eqpmnt even by drawing power from the coach's available points (in A/c and FC). Bear in mind that the indian railways for some strange reason thinks that only americans travel by A/C. So the power points they provide in most coaches are 110V and 2pin.

I would be careful about potential theft as well as locating it securely and preventing damage.

  7. It is not against the rule.  However dont try the same in Mumbai local trains, either you or your laptop will be left in or left out!

  8. Nope, no such rule as yet. You do have to remember that we still follow the laws set during the British rule, and since the laptop was not invented then, it's not included. Television sets are not allowed to be carried, as per rules.

And I've seen a few guys using their Laptops in the local's in Mumbai, in the presence of the Ticket checker, without being penalised or warned. So I guess it's not against the rules.

  9. No such rule exists but u shd be careful from potential thieves.

  10. i dn't think so..........
