Try reading the halo books they are really good except for the flood that sucks and it is just a written form of halo 1.

THis is a rumor but it is rumored there is going to be a Halo 4, but for the next XBOX (the nextbox? XD) but it will not be made by bungie, that for one is 100%.

Bungie do not want to make Halo anymore and have/are going to sell the rights to it.
