  1. Yes , Vista can be installed to your laptop, but I'm afraid some program might not be useful if you can't install the necessary drivers!

If you still have your former OS(CD), you can get some drivers from it.

  2. You answered your own question right there: "they don't any drivers for VIsta for this model"

So what's the point of installing vista if there are no drivers. Sure you could find out what audio card is installed and check that maker's website for generic drivers, same with the wi-fi and NIC...what else is installed?

IF you are determined...and if you still have xp installed. Right click My Computer and select Properties, then hit the hardware tab. Click on Device Manager.  from there is a list of the hardware installed. What you'll definately need drivers for are Audio, video, wifi, nic, and hardrive storage controller.

so find out the name and model of each one, then go to google or yahoo and search for each maker then find out IF they have drivers.

But this may be to much of a hassle for a crappy OS anyway.

  3. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows...

  4. vista may be the new and upcoming thing, though if the laptop was set up with xp, keep it. go to the manufacturers site and purchase the recovery disks. this is the best way to make sure your computer can still recover from a crash. as each time windows makes major change, thay require more power full hardware, and require more memory and drive usage.
