IS donation is the best way to use excess money you have or there is a better way to utilise that money?

like Bill Gates is donating billions of dollars what is it going to those who require it the most or being just wasted in between on researches etc etc.

Donations are always excellent because someone who needs the money gets it. If you wish to contribute extra money, it is also good to be active politically and contribute to (hate to say it) lobbies that share your beliefs. After all they do run the country, not necessarilly our elected officials.

Money aside though, the best way to contribute is TIME. Volenteer for something, because money is something alot of people have, but time is something that everyone has.

you could get universal life, and put all earnings into a charitable trust, then name the trust as the beneficiary.  It would save taxes and help a lot more people.  The working poor would benefit greatly and society would benefit from improving the working poor.

Yes. I find it to be a wonderful use of "excess money", even though I can't consider myself to have "excess" money, I do love buying 3 toys a week, begining in January, and save them for a year, so that I can donate them all to Toys for Tots.

I also traverse the dollar stores and buy a bunch of toys/stickers/coloring books etc. for a wonderful children's hospice in England.

When I do have that little bit of extra money. I try to buy a few teddy bears and put them away to donate to TeddyCare. Donating to charity makes me feel good to know that I am bringing some sunshine into the children's lives. And I wouldn't trade it for the world.

If I was a billionaire, I would certainly do more than I can right now for charity.

There are two best ways

1.Help the widow.with the basic needs food cloth and shelter and ..educate or teach skills to her son /daughter..so that they could earn....Make a self help group of widows...invest in the group...

2.Make a self help group of orphans and old aged people ..

so that they can take care of one another.
