IS it haram to listen to music during Ramadan?

Is it? I listen to music when i walk to school and when i walk home and thats it. So is it haram?

    Sister in ramadan you even leave the things which r 100% Halal eg

    eating, drinking.

  5. the prophet SAW said there would be things in the future muslims will try and make halal. the drinking of wine and listening to music are among them.

    in the middle east there are small groups of muslims who break their fast with drinking wine and large population of muslim world wide who listen to music.

    listen to nasheeds, quran, and lectures on islam this is best for you. keep your head and heart clear. and focus on worship of allah.

    why would you spend teh most holy month of the year listenign to music?? its time to cleanse your body and mind :)

  6. Yes I would think so. I wouldnt listen to music in Ramadan.

    To the others posters- What about musical nasheeds and islamic songs? They dont take you away from Allah do they?

  9. some people take it as haraam as one of my sister says here...

    it takes your mind away from thinking about nd praising Allah...

    but cant you take songs on Allah aswell...like hamds...they are words of praise and well if a song is all about words of praise then why not listen to it and think about Allah

  11. Anything that takes your heart and mind away from the praise of Allaah is haram....music, alcohol etc. not only in Ramadhan but all the time
