  1. The most important thing with a toilet plunger is acheiving a proper seal with drain hole of the commode.

The  concept behind a plunger is a short burst of high pressure to dislodge the blockage.

If the plunger is properly centered, firmly over the drain, one good push should clear the blockage

  2. judy's answer is how I do it, and if that doesn't work, go buy a good quality closet auger ( toilet snake)

  3. Yeah, you do quick fast pumping movements...really short and shallow.

  4. flush the toilet to get more water in the bowl and then immediately start plunging up and down with as much force as possible. the plunger needs to not let any air escape from under it. that trapped air is whats going to move whatever is stuck in there, unless it's something that doesn't belong in there, such as a toy or a ball etc, which kids have a tendency to try to flush them down the toilet.    if that's the case the toilet will have to come off and whatever is in there has to be forced BACK OUT WHERE IT WENT IN.   that's from the bottom back to the toilet bowl.

    good luck to ya

  5. hehehe, I dont think so, stick the plunger over thw hole, pump for a couple of minutes, then flush and continue pumping, thats what i do at least
