I'll be using it to watch movies alot and I heard that large lcd tvs have motion blur and that plasma tvs have better colour and image quality?

  1. It is a good TV, I've a 32" Panasonic but mine's LCD and I have read that generally LCD is better than Plasma, but maybe you've done more research than me!  (I've just double-checked and it seems LCD is better, see the link below)

That price looks a bit steep to me though, try the link below for a similar TV that's much cheaper!

Finally, if you want an LCD of similar specs, try the final link.

  2. Your first 2 answers don't have a clue! Pay no attention. This is a quality HDTV, one of the highest rated in BOTH performance and reliability. Regular HD television, including fast moving sports, are one of the plasma's forte - no motion blur. And plasma is the standard for movies. Dollar for dollar, Panasonic Viera plasma is the very, very best buy in a plasma display. Go for it.

1080p - not needed until screen size is at least 50" AND your input is a Blu-ray player with a 1080p BRD!

  3. LCD is a lot better quality it has 1080p, also plasma lightbulbs burn out after 4 years. Trust me I have a LCD Sony bravia TV and i was watching the euro soccer tournamen in HD and it was a fantastic image. I did go to my friends house and watch it as well and he has a plasma tv and it was HD too but it was no where near the quality of mine. Also most LCD tv's now have anti-glare while plasma's don't so if you get glare in your tv room your plasma will suck.
