IS this courseload so hard for sophomore? Three AP's?

Question

I am going to be high school sophomore this year. I am taking those courses this year. If it is really hard courseload, and if you have experienced about those courses.

Spanish II

Honors English

Honors Pre-Calculus

Honors Chemistry

AP Physics: Level B

AP World History

AP Psychology

Last year when I was a sophomore I had:

Math 12 accerleated- It was so eay but that's cus I'm real good at math

English 10 honors- it was easy also, I just hate writing essays

AP Chemistry- I got a 4 on the AP and I had a 90 every quarter

I was in AP world history in 9th grade but I dropped out in two weeks b/c It was way too time consuming and I didn't like the teacher's attitude. Also Idc too much about social studies.

i don't know about the two other AP classes but I'd  say drop ap physics and take regular

I take it honors is the equivelent to level 1 at my school. I had all level 1's and two ap classes, spanish 3 and then phys. ed and chorus.Your defiently going to have to work your *** off and manage your time well. In my opinion I would drop one AP class. Your going to pre-calculus as a sophomore, holy c**p! Your obviously well above your grade in intelligence and dropping on  AP would not hurt one bit.

When I was a sophmore I didnt even take AP classes, although I do know a few people who did. I would say your schedule can be difficult if your not prepared... if your smart and prepared you shouldnt have much to worrie about.

well given the fact that they're AP classes they will be hard and it's not like you have easy honors courses either but this is a way to test your dedication to your work. You can pass all of these classes if you put in the needed time study and effort if you're not going to do that then please get a schedule change and take classes more suitable for your style

Well, that sounds like my Sophomore schedule- (I'll be a Sophomore this year). The classes that I am taking are:

Pre-Calculus- Pre-Calclulus is a Senior class at my high school. Their is an advanced math group of Juniors who are also in Pre-Calculus. Most likely, I will be in class with the Juniors. At my school their is no Honors math, it's really just based on what year you take the math... For example, I'm a Sophomore taking a Senior math class- you are too. Next year I've got AP Calculus BC (Junior year).

Spanish II- This is basically the regular second year of the same language... I'm taking it as a Sophomore- which is normal. Some Freshman can take Spanish II because they took Spanish I in middle school because they didn't take music. I'm in Orchestra.

AP Physics B- This is most definitely a predominantly Senior level course. Ok, so I took Algebra II online during my Freshman summer. So now I can be in Pre-Calculus Sophomore year. The Pre-Requisite for AP Physics B is completion of Algebra II... So I can be in that class. I'll be in class with Juniors an Seniors. This class is very challenging. Next year I'll take AP Chemistry.

Honors English- Basically this is for the goody-goody students. It's just kids who mainly want their transcripts to look good... All you had to do was get more than a B- in last years Freshman English... Lot's of honors roll kids (I really have no right making fun of 4.0 students).

Advanced Honors Orchestra- Had to audition for it, made it, yeah that's pretty much it...

AP US History- This is a Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class... I had to like test to get in... Like, write a huge essay and read all of this stuff. A lot of memorization. I'm going to take AP World History next year... I found that a lot of schools go World and then US, my school goes US then World... That makes a lot more sense anyways.

Question: How do you have seven classes? My school only offers six... It looks like your doubling up on science... Why are you taking Honors Chemistry and AP Physics B? I'm just taking AP Physics B and then AP Chemistry next year... Well, I had to get department approval to do that- you should look into it, obviously your a very advanced student.

My school doesn't offer AP Psychology.

Ok, well, I'm not going to lie- we both have very challenging schedules. Here is the normal Sophomore year schedule:

Geometry

Spanish I or II

Biology

English 10

P.E.- Yoga, wieght training, etc...

US History- Or world history for some schools

Obviously we have like a Junior or Senior schedule/courseload

Ok, so I've heard a lot about how hard these classes are from peers and the faculty.

I'm going to go through the list of classes and list their level of difficulty on a scale of 1-10 (1= Very simple 10= Very challenging). Then I will state an estimated prediction of the amount of homework per night in terms of hours.

Pre-Calculus (again, my school doesn't offer honors)- Difficulty: 6.5-7.5 Amount of homework per night: App. 1+ hour(s).

Spanish II- Difficulty: 5.5-6.5 Amount of homework per night: 45 min.- 1 hour.

AP Physics B- Difficulty: 8.5-9.5 Amount of homework per night: 1.5-2+ hours.

Honors English- Difficulty- 5.5-7 Amount of homework per night: 45-1.5 hour(s).

Advanced Honors Orchestra- Doesn't matter for you

AP US History- Same as above

Your looking at a lot of homework per night. That courseload is very advanced for a Sophomore, and hard for mostly any high schooler- reguardless of grade level.

This courseload won't be as hard for you because you are obviously very intelligent and advanced.

I also have sports and clubs as well... I won't go into that. I think that time management and prioritization is essential in order to succeed.

Focus in class, take notes during handwritten notes during lectures. Do all of your homework and study for tests.

Basically, focus on school... I know that you will get perfect grades all through next year.

I think that your hardest classes will be AP Physics B and AP World History. AP Physics B requires a lot of math. It uses advanced Algebra, advanced Geometry, Trigonometry, and introduces concepts of Calculus. There is a very heavy workload in AP Physics B, but most people have trouble understanding the concepts. I don't think that you will have as much of a problem with that because you are advanced in math and obviously grasp concepts quickly. In AP World History, it is the memorization and workload that bring people down. Basically hard work and studying will get you through that class.

Other than that, you should be fine next year.
