Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar's five-year ban has been suspended for a month so he can play in the IPL.

A Pakistan Cricket Board tribunal accepted a plea from Shoaib that the ban should be suspended temporarily so that he can play in the Indian Premier League.

Shoaib had signed for the Kolkata Knight Riders before being struck off the IPL's roster.

Justice Aftab Farrukh, who heads the tribunal, said the ban was delayed until the next hearing on June 4

  1. un fair

  2. Alls fair in love and war and this is the love of the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman to seem humane and his war against Shoaib who insulted him in the press. No player should be bigger than the sport itself but unfortunately thats only true on paper specially where India and Pakistan are concerned.A case in point is changing the pre-appointed umpire,Steve Bucknor, during the last India-Australia series because the Indians didnt think he was fair.I must add here that Mr.Bucknor enjoys a very clean reputation earned over a long and and distinguished career.

    Cheers.

  3. Actually it is extremely fair!

If you recall the original ban to Shoaib did not stopped him from playing outside Pakistan, i.e. IPL, or maybe County Cricket etc (because you cannot stop a person from trying to earn his livelihood)

What the appellate tribunal has done, is suspended his ban till 04th of June, 2008, hence allowing him to play in the IPL.

    The original ban stands!

  4. No dont think so

  5. Well this is typical of the way the laws of cricket are viewed in Asian countries. This turkey(Shaoib) should be shown the door in all forms of cricket, as he is a disgrace to the game. And he should take Harbhajan with him!

  6. is it fair that you are obtuse angle.

  7. Only thing that is unfair is.. banning him for 5 years.

    Welcome back shoaib !

  8. yes, its fair as long as the PCB doesn't reach their final decision  they need to let him continue with his career.
