  1. You'll find a list of all the outlets in Ireland which give a discount to ISIC Student card holders at the site below.  It includes discounts for travel, food, entertainment, night clubs, accomodation, cultural events, sport anad retail outlets. Bus Eireann our national bus service offer a USIT discoung, but Dublin Bus have their own student travel card scheme.

  2. no

  3. Are they not completely useless as a normal student card given by colleges get you the same amount of things? Only difference is college is free and ISIC is €12 the robbing b*stards!

  4. I never heard of that before, just looked it up. I'm sure you could use it to get discounts in shops just like with a regular student card!

With public transport, no. They only except their own student cards for discount. If you want one you have to apply to http://www.studenttravelcard.ie to get a Student Travel Card. I think its about €10.

Once your over 18 buying alcohol is fine. If they don't take your ISIC card show them more ID i.e. driving licence, passport. The more ID you show the more confident they are of your age.

You can also get Garda ID from any Garda station. The idea of the Garda ID is so you won't have to bring out ID that you don't want to loose. It is accepted all over Ireland. It costs €10, unless you have an old one in which case its free! You will need your birth cert, passport or driving licence and one passport sized photo of yourself. The Guards will fill out all you need and the card is posted out to you in a number of weeks.
