IT Security courses?

Hi,

Which is best and quickest way to become IT Security certified? and which is the best vendor?

Also which is the best certification to have (the most worldly reconised?)

Globally there are a few courses by SANS, and some accreditation available by GIAC (which are sort of coupled with SANS I think).

In the UK there are a few university courses, such as at Royal Holloway MSc course, there's the CISSP qualification, and the CLAS, all of which are worth looking into.

Apologies if you're not in the UK. I only joined this today to get a quick answer, and haven't checked what countries I'm actually talking to =).
