ITIN number not received. Applied for 8 weeks ago

myself and my wife was jointly applied for tax returns in USA. we are on h1, h3 VISAS. I applied for ITIN number for her before 2 months ago. Still now I did not get the ITIN number . What is the solution for this problem to get TIN number

Did you attach the Form W-7 to your tax return and mail it to the Austin, TX Service Center?  If you did it that way, it can take up to 16 weeks to process the ITIN application and tax return so you're only half way there.  If you sent it to any place other than Austin, TX it will cause delays as they will have to forward it to Austin for processing.
