ITunes card help? Not activated?

Well, I got an iTunes gift card for my birthday, 15 dollars, and I only opened it today, like five months later. I typed in the code, but it said::

"The Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card code you entered has not been activated. Please return to the original point of purchase for assistance."

I don't know where my friend bought it.I doubt he remembers. What do I do? I really want to get a few songs for my iPod

My cards did the same thing and Target couldn't have been less helpful.  Go to www.apple.com/support/itunes/store.  There is an e/mail form where you can enter your card's code and serial number.  I'm waiting for a reply from them.  Wish me luck!!!

Most likely the cashier (from where he bought it) did activate it or charge it right.

try calling a number ( if theres one behind the card)
