Question:

IUD: Mirena contraceptive....?

Anyone use it? Im mid 20's and not really sure if its for me... im currently using Yaz but im sick of taking them every night. Any advice would be great, thanks!

I've been using Mirena for about a year now.  I love it.  I had it done in the doctor's office and went home afterwards.  There was some cramping but it went away that night.  I don't have to think about birth control for 4 more years.  I don't even know it's there.  If you don't want kids any time in the next 5 years I highly recommend it.

    Yes, it can be taken out if you change your mind.  It looks like a little plastic t.  Your doctor inserts it into your uterus.  There is a string attatched that hangs.  After a week or 2 you'll go back to the doc's office to have her check to make sure it's still in the right spot.  She may or may not cut some of the string.  (The string isn't hanging where it can be seen or felt).  I will admit to having some major pain when it was first inserted, then just cramps.  I would recommend going home and taking some ibuprofen.  I looked at the info on this web site before I went. http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp?247SE...
