IUD removal question.

Question

Does anyone know how long you should wait to try and conceive after having the IUD removed? I've heard 6 months from a friend, but I've yet to find anything actually stating that.

PS - I've never had an IUD myself, otherwise I would ask my doctor. I'm just curious.

Most Drs believe that women return to fertility as soon as the IUD is removed.  You can try almost any IUD website and see testimonials of women who have had them removed and conceived right away.  I have a good friend who had hers removed because of a complication and SURPRISE! they have a little girl.  She had the IUD on for 5 years and after it was removed the Dr wanted her to wait 6 months before starting another BC method.  Oh well!  Good Luck.
