Question:

IUI Success With No Fertility Problems?

I'm 31 years old, single and I do not have fertility problem (at least I don't think so, I haven't tried!). I know it's going to sound strange to some but I'd like to have an IUI. I just broke up with my BF of 8 years and my biological clock is keeping me up at night! Does anyone know the cost of an IUI knowing that I do not have fertility problem (therefore less medication?)? Would my success rate be higher than someone with fertility problems? Could you advise me a good, reliable clinic and/or doctor in NYC?

If you answer this question it's probably because you went or will go through it so go luck!!!!!!

Thank you for your answers!

  1. Ok, my sister-in-law got married, and DH has NO sperm.  Birth defect.  So she had no fertility problems, but she did an IUI with donor sperm.  She had to take fertility meds even though she didn't have a fertility problem---so you will/may have to take fertility meds anyway.   She got pregnant I think with IUI #2.  I know she had a miscarriage-with #1 maybe?

Cost in Iowa (obviously NOT NYC) is $400 for the first IUI (for the sperm and the insertion) and for subsequent IUI's it's around $300.  This does not include medicine and any ultrasounds and office visits that they require.

    Good luck!
