i heard that the planet nibiru is going to pass through and were going to have tidal waves and earthquakes and everythings going to end is this true its kinda freaking me out

No, it isn't true.  There is no actual scientific theory or evidence that anything unusual is going to happen in 2012. It is a collection of myths and disproven theories being promulgated by doomsday predictors, who predict a new one every few years. The longer explanation is below:

It is based on the end of the current cycle of the Mayan long count calendar. No doomsday was predicted and the Mayan civilization died out, so a new cycle wasn’t written.

Niburu (Planet X) doesn't exist. Zecharia Sitchin is an author of books promoting the ancient astronaut theory for human origins. He attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Annunaki (or Nephilim) from a hypothetical planet named Nibiru in the solar system. The Doomsayers predicted that it was to hit Earth in 2003. Undaunted when it didn't show up, they just moved it out to 2012 to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar.

Galactic Alignment - takes 36 years to precess through galactic equator, we will be 6 degrees off in 2012.

Asteroid Apophis - the 2001 alert was for 2029, and was canceled after additional observations showed it would not hit us.

Polar Shift - the magnetic poles are moving all the time. Polar reversal happens over thousands of years.

Passage through a "photon belt" has been added. This is also untrue and wouldn't hurt us if it were. Photons are merely units of light.

Solar flares happen all the time and we have more of them at some times than others. They haven't caused any serious problems in the past. The direct effects of solar flares are mainly related to communications and radio transmissions. We had a major series of solar flares in 2005. Did you notice anything? I didn't.

The world isn't going to end on December 21, 2012, just the Mayan Calendar ends. Let me tell you something. The Mayan Calendar has to end sometime and did you know when the Mayan Calendar ended the Mayans would celebrate? Besides, nobody can't predict when the end of the world is. You shouldn't always believe what you hear from other people. Those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. You know what is sad, people may commit suicide over this thinking its the end of the world. That's why those who spread rumors about 2012 should be punished. *Planet X (Nibiru) isn't going to hit the Earth it doesn't exist.

*Poles are switching everyday, this isn't going to happen all in just 1 day. This process takes thousands of years. Throughout geological history there has been may pole switches and life has still survived.

*Sun will be lined up with a sunspot, but it doesn't mean it will wipe out all life on Earth. One time ago, Earth was lined up with a sunspot and people were on it and everybody didn't just die.

* There is not going to be catasphoic earthquakes.

Each time the end the world is predicted. They are always wrong. Here are all the predictions of when the world would end and each time they where wrong. Before 2012 it was 2006. Then 2000. And 1990, 1988, 1987, 1986, 1985, 1984, 1982, 1980, 1975, 1974, 1970, 1967, 1960, 1957, 1953, 1948, 1940, 1936, 1919, 1915, 1914, 1891, 1856, 1850, 1844, 1832, 1830, 1794, 1792, 1736, 1689, 1669, 1533, 1524, 1496, 1346, 1284, 1205, 1033, 1005, 1000, 992, 968, 500, 375, 365, 200, 90, 60, 30. SEE!! The end hasn't came and all this shows they are wrong!! Through out history the end has been predicted but has never happened so, whats the point of worrying?

You know what is sad? People may have committed suicide thinking the world is going to end all because of these lies. So, please don't live your life in fear. Just live your life be sucessful and don't worry. It isn't going to happen! Anyways, as from what I just said, you can't predict the future. What if tommarow were the end? What if tommarow you died from in car accident?

No, that is complete bullcrap, and the result of crazy, whacked-out nut-cases who are easily brainwashed into believing any ridiculous fairy tale thrown at them. The real end of the world is going to occur 7 days from now when the Large Hadron Collider is switched on, at which point a mini black-hole is going to engulf our planet and then slowly gobble up the rest of the known universe.

Yeah i watched some big thing on Discovery channel that talks about it, and how all these different civilizations pointed at 2012 being the end of mankind and what not.

But I mean, we went through the same thing when 2000 was coming.

From what I gathered, the poles shifting was the major issue, because that would defiantely cause a lot of problems......but I highly doubt it could be pin pointed on one particular year, or day.

Whatever is supposed to happen, will happen.  It doesn't matter how much you worry about it...it will still happen.  They have been talking about 2012 for a long time...who knows what is true and what is not?  My advice is to continue to live your life to the fullest.  Worrying does you no good...you are wasting your time and energy.  Love to you my friend...if we explode, go out knowing that you enjoyed every moment of your life.

I don't think the world's gonna end in 2012.  They say that the world's gonna get better before it gets worse so we're not quite there yet.  If you're that scared of the world coming to an end, you should try to do something about it and become GREEN 'cause the only thing that's gonna really save our planet is to stop doing what we've been doing to make it as bad as it is today (pollution, etc.)
