Iago Aspas insists he is not a replacement for Luis Suarez – Football news
The former Celta Vigo striker has insisted that Liverpool have not signed him as a replacement for Luis Suarez. Suarez’s future has been under widespread scrutiny as the Uruguayan international is keen on a move to Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
Aspas admitted that he is honoured to have signed a deal with the Merseyside giants and the player is delighted to be playing for a club of the stature of Liverpool. The attacker stated that it is the right time in his career to make the move and is confident of having a successful career in the English Premier League.
The 25-year-old has claimed that he wants to improve as a player and stressed that he need to grab the opportunity of playing in one of the biggest leagues in Europe with both hands. He added that he is not  being signed as a replacement to anyone and is keen non serving the club in the years to come.
“Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am going there to take an important step in my career, not to be a replacement for anyone. I have confidence in my ability to move forward and to grow as a player,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Aspas expects to take help from Liverpool players as he looks to settle down quickly in England. He admitted that there are Spanish players in the squad which will help his cause. The striker also wants to play alongside Luis Suarez, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Iago Aspas had an impressive campaign with Celta Vigo last term and the player scored 12 times in the 36 games he took part in.
