  1. No one who plays Rugby is a p***y...

Everytime someone calls you a p***y just think of all the diving Portuguese/Brazilian footballers.  Think of the Figure Skaters, think of the Syncronized swimmers...

If anyone is a p***y it's those guys...

lol don't worry it's macho bullshit anyway...

  2. Don't worry about it.

Some people think they do more harm than good anyway.

  3. it doesn't  make you a puss, sometimes it helps, a lot of props wear scrum caps, don't worry about it.

  4. No way, I wear a scrum hat because I got fed up of getting cuts on my head, which happened a lot. I once tackled a guy and my ear got caught on the pocket of his shorts and it ripped the top 1cm of my ear where it connects to my head, I needed to go to hospital to get it sown up. That's the main reason I wear it, to prevent stupid little cuts like that from happening so that I can spend Sunday afternoon at home instead of in the emergency room. For a forward I think it helps, the collisions and the contact is more intense and the scrum hat did give me more confidence that I could go into contact with less chance of injury (even if the actual benefit was only slight, the confidence it gives you in contact is significant). This is because the most common injury's that I have seen are when someone goes into contact half hearted.

No wearing a scrum hat does not make you a puss, but why the h**l would your, great big girl, of a winger need one though?

  5. You're a pusssy!

Halfbacks don't need SC, and props wearing SC ?

    Bollocks.

Locks are the only men on the pitch with munted ears.

Any front row forward wearing a SC will be pegged as a pusssy before the first hit. "crouch, hold, he's a pusssy"

Be a good little pusssy boy and do as you coach and girlfriends say, wear your pusssy little SC.

Get hard, as a rugby  legend once said: "we are not playing tidly winks."

And ALEX M, there are plenty of pusssy boys playing rugby.

They are the ones with the cleanest jumpers, the newest, most expensive boots, the ball that's never been kicked, and the pristine new skull cap.

    . . . or am I just talking macho bullshit ?

  6. yes you are. play bear head.

  7. Your not a p***y, you're just not stupid.

A scrum cap just means you aren't going to develop the horrible affliction of the front row known as 'cauliflower ear.'

I don't see the point in anyone but the two props wearing them.

  8. No.

  9. Ignore them. If they want cauliflower ears and a higher risk of head injury then that is their problem. I used to play hooker for a ladies rugby team and I always wore head protection. The other girls used to laugh at me but I ignored them. Do want you want and ignore these idiots.

  10. Wear the scrum cap. It will keep your ears attached to your head when in the scrum, and it will prevent cauliflower ear.

The other guys are being stupid. let them get hurt.

  11. im a girl.....but from my point of view i dont think they look puss,y at all. i think youd rather not get concussed and look silly than get concussed and not be able to play at all.....

  12. Hey bro its algood,Colin Meads,Sean Fitzpatrick ,Josh Kronfeld,Ricthie Mcaw and the Great Micheal Jones wore head gear at times some of them all the time. These players are some of our staunchess and toughess  NEW ZEALAND ALL BLACKS legends of all time. Its wise and also cool bro to wear it.

  13. Kinda, at least you are a forward. you should have to be in the SCRUM to wear a SCRUM cap, I hate backs who wear them

  14. If you're one of the front five then a scrum cap stops your ears getting ripped off, and I don't know about you, but I would like to keep mine! But whoever it was that said wingers don't know about contact better not come near me!! As one of the back three, the last line of defence, the winger is more important as a defensive player than an offensive one. There are plenty of runners in the team, and wingers can feed back to them to take in the tries, but if you don't have confident tacklers on both wings then you're screwed when the opposition launch an attack.

  15. When your playing in the front row wear it it will protect your ears an your head. when playing scrumhalf there is not much need to wear it.

  16. It protects the part of the body like ear etc and other contributing factors to injuries such as dangerous tackles.

  17. where one ur not a puss. Ur coach is right. My dad is a coach and coaches my lil brothers team he even makes my lil bro wear this padded shoulder suit to protect his shoulders.

  18. Nope not at all, especially in the front row.

Don't listen to wingers anyway, they wouldn't know contact if it smashed them in the face!

  19. Listen to your coach.I play wing and i wear a scrum cap. Im the only player on my team to wear a scrum cap.I dont give a d**n what they think it safe for me.

  20. not at all.  Firstly, let me say that i'm impressed that you can play both front row and scrum half.  Since you play front row, and the scrum is the area of highest contact in the game, you're a prime candidate for cauliflower ear.  This is a gross looking thing that happens when your ear detaches from your head and then fills with fluid.  It's the primary reason forwards tape their ears back, or in your case wear a cap.

You're coach is right, and you should tell your winger friend to go back to picking lint off of his uniform.  Wingers and backs generally don't need to wear them because while they do take contact, it's not like what we see in the front row.  I would counter that while you have a legitimate reason for wearing a cap (ie. not becoming deformed) they're wearing it simple for either A) a fashion statement or B) because their a wuss.
