  1. any replacement surgery can take as long as 6 months to feel normal.  Up to a year to move normal.  Range of motion is the part that should interest you.  You should also be aware of the restrictions limited ROM will impact u from work to play.

FYI, what is normal for u may be abnormal to me and others.  If you're active, play sports or you are naturally full of energy, you'll feel your limitations.  For me, and I'm not at all active like I used to, it may be that I'll feel normal way sooner--or feel less limitations.  This is just one of the variations in perspective that I think makes a valid point.

...I hope the surgery goes well and you're doing whatever it is u do in no time.

  2. Somewhat quickly. My dad was back to driving a month after surgery, and within a year, he had full use of the shoulder.  The shoulder isn't a weight bearing part like the hip or knee, so recovery will usually take less time and may have less complications. If surgery goes smoothly, you don't push yourself to do too much too early, and if you do your physical therapy, you should have normal movement in your shoulder anywhere from 6 months to a year.

  3. Shoulder replacement is much more complicated that other types of surgery such as a  knee, as the muscles and joints in your shoulder are used much more in daily routines of living.

Your general health, other health factors etc., age, general condition of your body will all determine your recovery.  Suggest you talk with your Physician as he can give you an educated guess.
