  1. If the SAT is out of 2400, then that's incredibly low. I would definitely bring it up...you have time! It's good you're taking APs starting as a sophomore and your GPA is good.

Just bring up your SAT and you have a really good chance!

  2. While AP credit is great, colleges actually don't look at your scores until after you have been accepted. What is important is that you took a higher level course and (hopefully) received good marks.

I assume that 3.79 is your unweighted GPA. That is not terrible, but you will want to strive to receive A's and (at the very least) B's in all of your classes next year (preferably AP or honors).

NYU is a prestigious university and high SAT scores leave a mark on the admissions officers. If your score is on the new scale (out of 2400) I would advise you to pick up an SAT prep book and study, study, study!

    Good luck!!

  3. Nope, I got a 1920, a 3.83 GPA, good all around letters and activities and I got rejected.

    By the way, NYU sucks!

  4. honestly, too early to tell.

Psats score doesn't count for jack. AP world score good, the fact that you *took* an AP course looks good, excellent GPA, but really it's too early to tell.

What I can tell you is that if you keep up the good work, you have a very good shot at NYU.

NYU is an excellent school, although expensive.
