i have this ocd .

its like this that i fell difficulty in talking to people.means talking face-face,more importently when looking into their eyes and talking.this makes me feel difficult and sometimes i even practise my self before meeting any person , for example going to a shop and talking to the shopkeeper.

i fell the most difficult and scared and tensed when iam in certain situations where me looking into the other person is demanding, eg in a hotel and sitting on a table where people generally sit opposite and are mostly demanded to talk face-face,classroom where we look at teacher etc.

i feel very tensed when taling to my realtives ,family having a scare in me that maybe they might find out what is wrong in me.

please tell me some tips

  1. This has nothing to do with OCD, nor does it have anything to do with diseases.

  2. I used to have a very similar problem, myself. I became obsessed with how much eye contact I was making with people. It haunted me during every social interaction and made me extremely shy, almost agoraphobic.

Eventually I learned to change the underlying belief that caused such negative thoughts about making eye contact. The belief that I had was that I had to be perfect in social situations otherwise people wouldn't like me. Once I realized that wasn't the case and that a lot of people are awkward in social situations, the anxiety gradually vanished.

I reccomend for you a book titled "When Panic Attacks" by David Burns. He is a psychologist who has specialized in cognitive behavoural therapy for several decades. The 40 techniques he describes in this charming book can help you to change your thoughts and underlying beliefs so that anxiety will never be a problem for you again.

    I wish you the best.
