I assume you're in a boarding house, or a share house? if so that sounds like a fairly standard amount.  It really depends which suburb you're in, but if you're comfortable and happy, all good.

I would keep that a secret unless it is in a really dangerous or c**p part of the city. Normally you would pay that for the use of a dog kennel. And believe me when I say that rental availability and prices are getting to that stage in Sydney.
