  1. Try to eat a balanced meal - more fibre (veggies and fruits) and lean protein, little carbohydrates (although this is fuel to most of us swimmers), no junk food and sweets.  

    Aside from swimming, you can do cross training/exercise (i.e. weights, running) into your routine to lose weight.  Swimming is cardio and according to what I read (try looking for it at www.about.com - swimming) calorie burning in swimming stops immediately after going out of the water.  Good luck.
