Ian Bell confident Alastair Cook will do well as Test Captain – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 announced retirement from professional cricket.
“I think he will be fantastic. He's had a responsibility in the Test team anyway, as vice-captain. He has been right there with Straussy," said Bell in a recent interview.
“He has led this one-day team incredibly well, and I don't think it will be anything strange to him; I think he will take to it very easily. He will probably have his own stamp on things (in Tests), like he has in the one-dayers. But we're very lucky, because I think it will be quite an easy changeover,” added the English batsman.
Most members of the England team, just like Bell, believe that the 27-year-old Cook will do just fine in Strauss’ http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Peter-Hewitt-c66001 since he was the vice-captain of the Test side during the former skipper’s reign.
Meanwhile, Cook will now have to engage the lingering issue of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 last month, as he stirred up a hornets’ nest by criticising Strauss and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in text messages sent to some members of the South African team.
While, the presence of KP adds a bit of sting in the national team, Bell believes England have the right formula for batting that can be daunting either at home or abroad.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 regained their number-one spot in one-days after winning the third match of the ongoing five-match series, and are now on the verge of winning the series after they went one-up by beating the Proteas on Sunday in the fourth match by six wickets, at Lord’s, London.
However, Cook insists that England do not feel like they are the ace team in the limited overs game. Cook’s first assignment as Test captain will be the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in November this year.
