Question:

Ian Bell injured?

As you might have heard Englands opener Ian Bell is an injury doubt for tomorrows ODI against New Zealand at The Oval.

Bell "tweaked" his knee when playing touch-rugby with his team-mates on the outfield earlier today. He looked in a degree of pain and was forced to sit out England's subsequent net sessions.

So my question is - if Ian Bell is unable to play in tomorrows match, who do you think should take his place? :)

  1. cook

  2. If Bell misses out then Alastair Cook will take his place, but I would like to see a 'form horse' - Joe Denly, Michael Carberry or Jonathan Trott - given a chance especially as Cook is coming back from an injury. I guess the problem with giving a inexperienced lad a chance is they have just 2 ODIs to impress and would the selectors have any interest in giving them more matches against SA if they're not in form at that time.

  3. Cook will take his place.

But why do cricketers keep getting injured when they are 'playing games'? This isn't the first time this has happened.

  4. cricketers these day are pusseys.

They moan and tip toe over the smallest injuries, i thought this tag was only reserved for footballers.

  5. I don't think they will look outside of the current crop of players already in and around the squad (though perhaps it would be refreshing if they did!) which is unfortunate as there are quite a few county players making their mark in the domestic one day format this season. I think it will be either Alastair Cook (who has just recovered from his shoulder injury) or Andrew Strauss.

    My money is on Cook.

  6. Scott, I'll get Harmison or Flintoff to bounce you at 90mph. Then you can revise your statement that all cricketers are *******.

Alistair Cook will replace him cause he's back from injury I think, isn't he.

  7. David Sales.
