Durham were in a very good position in a three-day game of the Marylebone Cricket Club University (MCCU) Matches against Durham MCCU, at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782 University Grounds in England on Monday. The hosts took a 236-run lead at the close of the third day’s play
and still have two wickets remaining.
Durham MCCU captain Tom Westley won the toss and elected to bat first. The conditions were good for batting, but the visitors failed to make most of them and were all-out for 235 in their first innings.
Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Greg-Smith-c1508 to the middle, who joined Luc Durandt at the crease. The pair put together 45 runs for the second wicket and things started to look good for the team.
However, Durandt failed to capitalise on the start he got to his innings, as he was dismissed for 23. His dismissal triggered a collapse, as none of the other batsmen were able to support Smith. However, the first-drop player didn’t lose his focus, and continued
to play with effortless ease. The 22-year-old batsman deserved a hundred, but was undone after scoring 85 runs in his innings.
Lower middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rishabh-Shah-c85439 batted well along with the tail and guided the team’s total over 200. He was the last man to be dismissed in the Durham MCCU innings after scoring 45 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Claydon-c1973, who grabbed two wickets apiece.

team from trouble.
Both Stoneman and Muchall got out in a span of two runs, scoring 73 and 26 runs respectively. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Stokes-c1142 managed to score 51 runs, but the other middle-order batsmen failed to make an impression, and the hosts were 198 for six at one stage.
However, lower middle-order players Ian Blackwell and Liam Plunkett amassed a brilliant partnership of 232 runs for the seventh wicket, guiding their team’s total to 471. Blackwell got out after scoring a terrific 158 runs whereas Plunkett remained unbeaten
on 107 at close of day-two.
