Ian Botham cites the English as ‘Cricket Kings of the World’ – Cricket News Update
Former English all-rounder, Ian Botham, termed England’s team as 'Cricket kings of the world', and appreciated the performance of the Poms at Lord’s against India.
England was spot on during the 2000th match of the Test Cricket history, and they exposed the strong Indian team in every department of the game, winning the clash by 196 runs, which made Botham cite the English as the World’s best team.
"There is little doubt that the current English team are now cricket kings of the world," the former pacer stated.
He is also expecting that the Poms will continue with the same momentum during the forthcoming matches, and believes that England is all set to seal the top spot in the International Cricket Council’s test ranking.
"What we saw at Lord's was the sort of performance you would expect from the best team on the planet and there will be more to come before this series is over.” The Cheshire-born, right-handed batsman said.

He served his country in 102 Test matches, scoring 5200 runs with an average of 33.54. He also has 383 wickets with an economy rate of 2.99.
