Former England captain, Ian Botham, is still unable to figure out the reasons behind England’s disappointing show against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the longest format of the game, earlier this year.

"I don't know what went wrong in the first part of the [northern hemisphere] winter. It was really weird, all of that,” former captain Botham said on Tuesday.
Botham blamed the underperforming batting line-up for the disappointing results however, he said that he was unable to figure out the problem exactly.
“The bowlers were magnificent throughout, and it has to be said the batsmen just didn't turn up. Why that is, I haven't got a clue and I don't think they know,” he added further.
