Ian Burns, Stuart Carrington, Li Hang, Zhang Anda register wins: 2011 World Snooker Q School Event 3
Ian Burns, Stuart Carrington, Li Hang and Zhang Anda won their Round 2 matches of the Event 3 of this season’s World Snooker Q School.
The last event of this year’s World Snooker Q School is being held at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
Ian Burn 4-1 Steve Judd
It was not the best of performances from Ian Burns but still he was able to register a comfortable 4-1 win over his countryman, Steve Judd.
Judd only managed in winning the second frame without doing anything outstanding. However, it was Burns who dominated rest of the match. The only dominant break of the match was 53, which came in the first frame from Burns.
Stuart Carrington 4-0 Justin Astley
It was one of the most dominant performances of the session, as Stuart Carrington completely whitewashed Justin Astley by a 4-0 frame score to book a place in the Round 3.
Astley knocked in a break of 54 in the opening frame but it was not enough, as Carrington recovered and won it. Carrington also took the following second and third frames playing his tactical game and then fired a decisive break of 66 in the fourth to finish
the matters off in style.
Li Hang 4-2 Jamie Clarke
It was an impressive performance from the Chinese cueist, Li Hang, as he showcased his magnificent break building skills for the audience.
Clarke won the opening frame on the final black ball before Hang stormed into the next three frames with a top break of 97. Though Clarke reduced the deficit at 2-3 by winning the fifth, he lost the sixth again, as Hang mopped up a frame-winning break of
55 in it.
Zhang Anda 4-1 Ian Glover
This was the best match of the session, as the players racked up superb breaks of 135, 63, 63 and 57 for the audience.
The Chinese, Anda, won the first frame without doing anything outstanding to lead 1-0 but he was stunned in the following second, as Glovers cleared the table with a dazzling break of 135 to level the things.
However, the Mighty Mouse, Anda, showed no reeling effects and took the next three consecutively to close the chapter. Meanwhile he enjoyed carving breaks of 63, 63 and 57 in the last three frames respectively.
