Ian Chappell, the former Australian skipper, has lashed out on Cricket Australia (CA), the national governing body of the game, for its flawed management but  showered admiration on the team for their strenuous efforts to sustain for long the legacy set
by the legendry players of the past.
Chappell argues that the Aussies possess abundant talent and passion for the game but it is their administrators who are unable to guide and lead them.
He opines that there was no need of any review report to identify the problems of Australian cricket as the fault lines were obvious and everyone was aware of them.
The Argus report, based on the Kangaroos’ performances and records of the past two years, was released some days back. The report, compiled by a former banker, Don Argus, played havoc in the managerial ranks of CA as it led to the termination of the Chief
Selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Timothy-John-Nielsen-c94043, and some other staff on the board.
Chappell is of the view that the cricket administration needs to mend its ways in order to capacitate the team to regain their lost pride in International cricket.
Talking to the media today, the former Test batsman said, “It's got to give you a bit of a clue when you have to hold a review to see what's wrong with the body that's supposed to be running cricket. That's got to tell you where most of the problems are,
surely?”
Commenting of his former team’s struggle for honour, he told, “I always thought Judgment Day was to come for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glenn-Donald-McGrath-c60183 went. The fact that Australia were able to prolong their reign at the top was in part a credit to them,
a credit to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377, and I think it was also down to the fact that there wasn't much around to take over from them.”
Chappell played 75 Tests and 16 ODIs for Team Australia during his 16 years of International cricket career. He played his last Test and ODI games against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 1980. Currently, he is working as a commentator and a cricket analyst.
