Ian Glover edges past Simon Bedford in the final deciding frame: World Snooker Q School

Ian Glover advanced to the third round after registering a 4-3 win over Simon Bedford in Event 1 of this season’s World Snooker Q School. This event is being held at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
It was yet another impressive performance from Ian Glover, as he held his nerves to edge past his opponent in the final deciding frame. Meanwhile, Simon Bedford, who previously outplayed Shaun Wilkes by a frame score
of 4-1, crashed out.
The overall score-line between both players was 76-1 (Glover 58), 81-41 (Glover 67), 46-68, 53-69 (Glover 43, Bedford 36, 33), 15-63 (Bedford 33), 81-42 (Glover 49) and 77-13 (Glover 32).
Glover stormed into a 2-0 lead with dominant breaks of 58 and 67 in both frames respectively. Third frame was a scrappy affair. A bout of safety play was seen among the players but this time it was Bedford who came
out on top to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
In the fourth frame, Glovers was the first one to be among the balls but he lost his nerves, breaking down on 43. When the chance presented itself, Bedford leveled things at 2-2 with a quick-fire, 36 and 33. In the
fifth frame, a few chances were exchanged before Bedford again got a chance to capitalize on Glover's mistake and fired a modest break of 33 to go in front at 2-3.
It looked like Bedford was going to book a place in the next round before Glovers, who was down by two frames with one to play, bounced back into the game and won the following two frames in a row to clinch a win.
He enjoyed superb breaks of 49 and 32 on his way to victory.
Elsewhere in the second round of the first event, Andrew Norman, Luke Simmonds, Lee Walker, David Gray, Ian Burns, Stuart Carrington and Chen Zhe, all moved into the Round 3.
