Ian Holloway adds another twist to the Charlie Adam transfer saga
After telling the suitors of Charlie Adam to “put up or shut up” with the hefty transfer tag for the Scottish midfielder, enigmatic Ian Holloway has now told the press that he can make personal profit if Charlie Adams is indeed
sold by Blackpool to the likes of Liverpool. Blackpool have had a fantastic season thus far in the English Premier League as they have defied all odds to capture points from their away trips to Newcastle United and Liverpool. However, their squad can be significantly
weakened by the departure of their captain and their playmaker, Charlie Adams.
Adams has been the backbone of the Blackpool side thus far in the English Premier League season of 2010-2011. Not only that, the youthful midfielder was also an integral part of the Blackpool side that finished 6th in
the Championship season last year. Blackpool are trying quite hard to keep Adams at the Seaside but it is believed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are preparing a massive bid to lure the midfielder away in order to strengthen their own ranks. In their latest league encounter,
Blackpool almost pulled off another upset at the Bloomfield Road stadium after they gained a two goal advantage over Manchester United in the first of their mid-week Premier League encounter. However, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side fought back to win the match by
three goals to two in the second half of the matchup.
Ian Holloway came out recently in the British press and said that he is set to get rewarded if a favourable deal for Charlie Adams goes through. Ian added that Blackpool’s Chairman Karl Oyston holds his player development and management
capabilities in high regard. Blackpool are currently 12th in the English Premier League table. Out of the 23 games that Blackpool have played so far, they have won eight, drawn four and lost eleven.
Holloway said to the press, "I do get rewarded with anybody I coach and make a profit on. My chairman (Karl Oyston) looked at my record of producing players and helping players and selling them on and he wanted that at Blackpool.
That's not what I'm (resisting offers for Adam) for. I'm on a far bigger bonus to keep us in the Premier League and Charlie Adam can help me do that.”
He ended his interview by describing Charlie Adam’s contribution to the Blackpool season thus far as he stated, "I bought a frustrated kid from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, we bought him very wisely, and in 18 months we've gone from 16th in the Championship
to 12th in the Premier League with his help."
