Ian Holloway commits his future to Blackpool and wants to see them in the Premier League next season
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has revealed that he won’t repeat his mistake and step down as Tangerines manager. Holloway was previously a manager at Plymouth Argyle and after serving them for one year, stepped down from the job which he regrets even today.
The manager admitted that he made a big mistake and then didn’t have a good time with Leicester City for which he still apologises to the Foxes. The 48-year-old added that he considers himself a fortunate man to have gotten the job at Bloomfield Road and
thanked the club chairman, Karl Oyston, for entrusting him with managerial duties.
Further commenting upon his mistake, Holloway said, "I had a contract at Plymouth, I walked out on it and I will never do that again. I've got a contract here for this year and next year and I'm delighted and very proud to be a very small part of a magnificent
football club. I saw it again the other evening, the statue we have outside now of Jimmy Armfield - this is an amazing club with an amazing history, and I like to feel that I have added to that."
Holloway told that he is still under contract with the Seasiders and would never make another mistake which he has to regret in the future. Commenting upon Blackpool’s current season, the manager admitted that his side made a brilliant start to their campaign
but stumbled midway through. He enthused that he would love to help his side prevent the relegation and claimed that the Tangerines will fight till the last drop of their blood.
The former Plymouth boss mentioned that he has very good relationship with the club’s chairman and confirmed that he won’t leave the club till Oyston is pleased with his performance.
Blackpool’s Chairman also voiced his opinion about the manager and his work at the club, saying that Holloway has done a decent job so far and will have no regrets even if the club goes back to the Championship.
He concluded, “Whatever happens, we've had a fantastic season. I certainly hope Ian will be manager next season. And, unless he's told you different, he will definitely be the manager here next season. It is still in our hands, which is a fantastic achievement
by the manager and the team.”
Blackpool are currently 17th in the League table with 35 points and are just a point clear of the relegation zone with three games left to play in the campaign.
