Ian Kinsler looking to translate good performance from post season to new campaign
There are a lot of things to expect from the Texas Rangers this season. With new changes made to the existing roster, it is intriguing to see if the existing franchise can achieve the same goals it did last year. One player making leaps and bounds in Spring
Training camp happens to be none other than, Ian Kinsler. The recently perceived top performer in the Cactus League has been making incredible advancements and is expected to be healthy this season.
In Surprise, Arizona, the Rangers are faring well in their preparation for the coming season. Similarly, Kinsler has a six game hitting streak. The player has been performing splendidly on the circuit, and his form has been exceptional on the run to the
regular league season.
During the playoffs and the World Series, Kinsler faced some of the best players on the mound and the plate. His learning curve took a sharp boost as he made runs, stole bases, and popped RBIs on numerous occasions. Without a doubt, the player was able to
hone his skills.
"Absolutely, it taught me a lot," Kinsler said. "There has got to be a way to keep that intensity for 160 games. That's the goal offensively, but defensively it's the same way. I felt like I played well on both sides of the ball in the playoffs."
Kinsler, while speaking to the press said he proved to himself that there were higher levels that needed to be achieved, and if he played like he did at the end of last season his confidence would surely boost for the coming challenges in the American League
and beyond.
In 16 outings, Ian Kinsler shot in a batting average of .296, seven runs, three home runs, three base steals, and nine RBIs in 54 At-Bats. Defensively and offensively he is proving good for the coming season.
"I'm still trying to reach it," Kinsler said. "I know it's there. I know I can perform at that level -- I've shown it -- but it's a matter of staying consistent at that level. As far as experience, I have enough to understand that I need to stay with what's
working, keep working hard, keep my head down and cut down on the low points during the season."
