Ian Poulter all set to bombard at Phoenix Open
All set and geared to begin his 2012 campaign, Ian Poulter intends to have a pace filled start at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, scheduled to take place in Arizona this week.
Pundits believe that the time is ideal for Poulter to once again show the world and his fans the golf talent he possesses.
With the arrival of his fourth angel in the family, and the subsequent 1.2 million tweets on his post comprehensibly manifests that time is at his disposal.
The last couple of things have ended completely in his favour. He was able to end the year 2011 after emerging as the winner of Australian Masters.
The English, with a total of 269 (15-under par), was able to defeat, respectively, 3 and 4 coups, Australian Marcus Fraser and Geoff Ogilvy, winner of the US Open in 2006.
Luke Donald, the world's No. 1 player, finished in the 12th place, 11 shots.
All he can expect at this point of time is that the beginning of 2012 with Phoenix Open is as auspicious as his last year.
"You could say I'm a very proud daddy. It's going to be hard leaving to play golf," said Poulter.
According to experts, it is being speculated that Poulter has been away from the golfing scene the entire first month of the year.
This self-marginalisation from the game can actually be a blessing in disguise for him.
He has been able to get the time to prepare himself for the Ryder Cup. His non-participation in any of the events held in January will provide him with ample space to overcome all his weaknesses.
His tremendous performance throughout 2011 will definitely serve as a pivotal cause and reason that can help him in gaining access into the Wildcard entrants for the prestigious event held between the best of Europe and America in golf.
Meanwhile, things have not been going very positive for the 41-year-old American golfer, Phil Mickelson.
Despite the fact that he is a possible candidate in the list of becoming the most capped American golfer this year, this has not brought considerable improvement in his performance.
This can further be vindicated from his 49th position finish at the recently held Humana Challenge.
