Ian Poulter ecstatic over his designs selected as the official apparel at Ballantine’s Championship
Englishman Ian Poulter might be contemplating a victory at this week’s Ballantine’s Championship in Korea but he is ecstatic for another reason.
The Ian Poulter Design (IJP) is the event’s official apparel this week, and this is the first time Poulter will be having an official engagement with the European Tour co-sanctioned event where he will have an opportunity to display his long line of sports
apparel.
Known for his expertise in the Match Play format in particular and the sport itself in particular, Poulter has done well so far in the current season and will now be hoping to land the title.
Ballantine’s Championship at Blackstone Golf Club is probably the ideal venue for the Englishman to land a title.
He said, “IJP Design has joined up with the Ballantine's Championship to be an Official Sponsor and the Official Apparel Partner for this Championship. For me it's a big move to be able to do that and it is something that we have been working hard to do.
I hopefully can showcase that this week, play very nice, and everybody can enjoy the week”.
Poulter will be pitched against a sturdy field this week against the Open Champion Darren Clarke, Spaniard Miguel Angel Jiménez, englishman Paul Casey and many others.
Winner of 15 professional events in his blistering career, Poulter is coming out of a strong finish in the Masters at the start of this month where he posted a joint seventh.
He refuted claims of his fellow countrymen who have been criticising Poulter for his non-chalant attitude towards the sport.
He added, “I would like to take the good form on to the golf course and be able to have a chance to win this tournament”.
Poulter also has a keen eye on the rampaging Korean players, especially Sang‑moon Bae, who won the Kolon-Hana Bank Korea Open in 2008, when he took over Poulter in the final round.
The Korean contingent also boosts off Y. E Yang, the 2009 PGA Championship winner and the rampaging young gun Kyung-tae Kim.
The event also features world number 12 Adam Scott of Australia who comes with tons of experience of the Korean turf.
