Ian Poulter not happy with second round performance - Ballantine's Championship
English golfer, Ian Poulter, is not happy with the way he played during the second round of Ballantine's Championship. Part of the European Tour, the Ballantine's Championship is taking place at the Blackstone Golf Course in Icheon Korea. Known for being
well connected to the public via his twitter account, Poulter took out his frustrations after the round.
“Disgusted to miss the cut in Korea today," Poulter tweeted. "It's beyond pathetic, the harder I try at the minute the worse it is. This game keeps you guessing."
The player only managed to make an even par in the second round and failed to make the cut. Had Poulter managed to make a decent score today, he would have made up for the two over par in the opening round.
In the second round, the player started off well making two birdies on the first and third hole. Then, Poulter made two bogeys on the fifth and seventh hole which really strained the player’s position. On the back nine, a birdie on the twelfth lifted his
spirits only to be followed by a bogey on the fourteenth. The long 15th hole really proved to be unlucky as the golfer made a double bogey on it. Finishing his second round with an eagle on the 18th, Poulter knew that it wasn’t sufficient
to secure his place in the tournament.
The opening round didn’t go very well for Poulter as well as he made one eagle, one birdie, one birdie and two bogeys to finish at two over par. Ranked seventeen in the world, Poulter has been struggling in his game this season. However, he shouldn’t be
that disappointed as other great players such as Ernie Els and Jeev Milkha Singh didn’t make the cut either. The Ballantines Championship is currently being led by the Australian player Brett
Rumford.
Not getting too depressed from what happened, Poulter managed to divert his attention to the latest world events. As this day marks the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Kate Middleton, Poulter said he watched the wedding and that Kate looked great.
