my wife and i just returned from the Italian consulate in southern china  guess what very hard to get a visa  must show proof of income by way of last 6 months bank record, letter of invitation from a national and or hotel reservation,, proof of employment   real estate, ticketing information, and forget the one day deal u must get a number  then wait to see if u r number is called  if lucky then Italian security and Chinese security work out how many number  will be called for the day   usually about 30 will be called for interview and if lucky 10 visa will be granted
