Iberostar cozumel or Occiental grand cozumel ?

Which is the better hotel ? anyone experienced either ?

Hi,

I've been to Cozumel three times.

What you are looking at is location. The Occidental is on the North side of the Island and Iberostar is on the far South side of the Island.

Both are remote, not a lot of traffic like close to town. It's really a coin toss. I like the South side of the Island. You will not find the high rise hotels south of Fiesta Americana. All the resorts tent to be one or two stories.

All the Hotels offer the all-inclusive which is a good deal, in the long run you don't have to pay or wait for the check and then tip.

If you plan on making very many trips into San Miguel, the cab fare from Iberostar will run you $8 to $10 one way. From the Occidental you'll pay $6 to $8. There is no bus or shuttle service.

Have fun, We're going back in December for a week. I like the Park Royal.

My parents recently stayed at the Occiental Grand and they loved it. They said they would definitely go back again soon.
