VfL Wolfsburg have loaned Ibrahim Sissoko to Greek side Panathinaikos for one year after the player failed to cement his place in the first team.

The former Bundesliga winners acquired the midfielder from Portuguese team Academica in January this year for a reported fee of 1.5 million Euros. The player failed to make his way into the starting line-up and made only two league
appearances in the second half of the previous campaign.
Felix Magath thinks that the player has immense talent and has the ability to play for a top team in Europe. He wants the player to gain experience at a top team in Europe so that he is ready to play for Wolfsburg.
The former Schalke boss admitted that Panathinaikos had an impressive season last term as they finished in second place, only behind Olympiacos, in the Greek Superleague. He is confident that the Ivorian will learn a lot after
playing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 and stressed that regular first team football will certainly give him a lot of confidence.
The German feels that Sissoko will be ready to play in the Bundesliga when he arrives back from loan next year and is keen to give the player a chance in the 2013-14 season. He regarded the winger as a great talent which is why
he is not keen on selling him.
“Ibrahim Sissoko should gain some match practice at a top club. Jesualdo Ferreira's side finished runners-up last season and if he is able to make the breakthrough into this side, then this is the right step for him to take now.
In the mid-term, he should strengthen our team,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Panathinaikos also have the option to extend the loan deal for a further 12 months which will obviously depend of the player’s performances next season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 failed to qualify for the UEFA Europa League next year and will be without European football next term. The team has been busy in the transfer market and has acquired some promising players in the transfer market
which includes the likes of Sam Dost, Emanuel Pogatetz and Jan p***k.
