Ibtahaj to bring back the Olly Murs Live At Kempton 17.08.12 Handicap for trainer, Saeed Bin Suroor
The Class 4 Olly Murs Live At Kempton 17.08.12 Handicap (London Mile Qualifier) has brought together fourteen three-year and above runners with the £4,075 prize money at stake. The race will be staged at Kempton over a mile on Wednesday, 27th
June.
Two of the most accomplished candidates on the line-up today are Ibtahaj and Eurystheus. The Saeed Bin Suroor trained Godolphin entry is backed up by 7 to 2 odds while the Richard Hannon trained has 5 to 1 chances of being the first one to race through the
wire.
Ibtahaj, Invincible Spirit’s three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Maroussies, has raced four times during the career, out of which three make up his 2012 campaign.
He ended third on 28th September in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes at Newcastle over a mile. Breaking the maiden was Deia Sunrise.
He then ended twelfth in the field of fourteen on 21st April in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Maiden Stakes (Division I) at Newbury over a mile. The race was won by the favourite, Noble Mission.
His third attempt at clearing the maiden went waste on 19th May at Newmarket in the Poptelecom.Co.UK Maiden Stakes (Division II) over a mile. Winning the race was the favourite, Mukhadram, and following right behind after losing the race by 1¼
lengths was, Ibtahaj.
The three-year-old finally broke the maiden on 31st May in the Lily Foundation Maiden Stakes at Brighton over a mile. The favourite won the race in partnership with Frankie Dettori.
He will break from the thirteenth stall with Mickael Barzalona onboard today.
An entry to look out for is Eurystheus, Acclamation’s three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Dust Flicker. Out of the four career outings, he has won only once.
Richard Hannon’s under charge cleared his maiden on 3rd October, 2011 in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes at Windsor over a mile and half a furlong.
His seasonal debut culminated in a fourth position in the Hazel Wigley Memorial Stakes (Handicap) on 24th May at Goodwood over a mile and a furlong.
A third experience with Richard Hughes might end with a second success of the season for the three-year-old.
