I have a kenmore model 1068648682 Refrigrator that is ice maker ready. I tried to buy the icemaker for it and it is no longer available. I bought a universal one and it fits perfectly but the connector is a molex and the one for the kenmore needs to be round. I decided to wire it direct to the fast-on terminals behind the back plate of the freezer in place of the round connector wires. It has 4 wires wh, black, green, yellow. White is neutral, black 120v, green ground, and yellow goes to the water valve. I hooked it all up and it doesn't turn on the water valve. I took my multimeter and measured across the water valve terminals and there is 22vac there. The wire is brown and the other side white. The yellow wire from the ice maker is connected where the brown wire was on the factory connector. I can't figure where the 22 vac is coming from. I completely disconnected the ice maker and found that there is 22vac on the water valve solenoid all the time. I do not have the drawings for the refrigerator and I can't solve this problem. Can you help here?
