Question:

Ice Skates? Helppp!?

I have been ice skating four times and i am looking to buy some ice skates.

I particularly need some with good balance as mine isn't so good in rentals.

I don't want to do anything fancy just good quality skates that will last long and won't go blunt.

Does anyone know where i can get a good pair? I was thinking ebay.

Also, do you reccomend any?

Help Me Pleaseee :)

  1. Ok, well my skates have been lasting me for almost 2 years now (i have small feet that dont like to grow lolz :p) and they still work perfectly, s'long as u get em sharpened about evry 5 months.

I got them from here: http://www.skate-buys.com/figureskates1....

But dont listen to the sizes. Get whatever size you are  for the rental skates.  in my case, im a size 4 kids, so i got size 5 skates

  2. Just to buck the trend, I got mine from eBay and I find them ok for me but I was just lucky.  Getting them from the rink where you skate may be a good idea. Check notice boards to see if anyone is selling out grown skates in your size. Good hunting

BTW all skate blades will go blunt after a while. How fast they do this depends on your weight and how often you skate but your local rink should offer a sharpening service.

  3. do not buy from ebay you dont know what you are getting better to buy from a proper skating shop either in your own rink or on line. ask about at your rink. for beginners Risport were quite good not so tough on the ankles but also very supportive i am a coach and i love Ridell competition boots but they were from my competing years!  maybe try some coronation ace blades to hope this helps.

  4. I recommend the website listed below. Good Luck :-)
