Ice cream addiction!!?

I have a ice cream addiction. I'm 14, 5 2' or so and weigh 98 pounds. I'm very lucky that I don;t gain pounds easy. How can I stop eating ice cream? I wanted to go on a healthy diet becuase of cross country season starting and I need to get back into shape. Every day i say ok now im not going to eat any more ice cream but I find my self having 2 servings or more then drenching it with chocolate syrup. I love ice cream but i hate it. It is not as easy as it sounds to just drop junk food. Thanks

  1. hey it could be worse you could be addicted to ciggarettes and then u wouldnt be able to run cross country at all.

    try to get the frozen yougurt its healthier for you and comes in so many good flavors now too...

    or try just allowing yourself ONE serving a day.... tell yourself you only get one.. so u better save it for the end of the day

    then u will have ur one serving and go to bed happy


  2. just go cold turkey I had to do the same thing with snickers haha. it's hard, just try to keep ur mine off of it.  GOOD LUCK!!

  3. You should just make sure that there's none in your house.. And maybe change your ice cream addiction to like fruit? It also has sugar and tastes good!

    They should be able to help you. It's a long way down the path of life without icecream. You will have hardships, struggles and probably at one point or another relapse. But you must be vigilant in your icecream sobriety.. because i've seen many people go down the icecream path and it has not been a good outcome.

  5. haha every american has an ice cream addiction!!!  If you love ice cream and arent ready for a diet I think you should DEFINETLY switch to frozen yogurrt.  It is so much better for you and it even tastes better!  Also, keep a log of eating it and mark days where you shouldn't.  Try to eat fruits and veggies and -you dont even have to stop.  As long as you're exercising every day and you said u did cross country so yeah!  SORRY htat was a scattered answer that had tons of blurbs. (my new fav. word!) lol keep eating!

  6. Well, what I would do is to tell you parents to not buy ice cream anymore.  And if they do, make sure they buy a flavor you dislike.  Get yourself busy in different activities and find snacks thatr could be healthier for you that you like just as much as ice cream.

  10. Tell your mom or someone to make sure you don't touch the ice cream. I don't see why you don't want anymore ice cream. It helps me when I get moody! Good luck to ye!

  12. maybe instead of going cold turkey you should limit yourself and make the proportions less and less each day with exercise...that way you don't suffer from not having any but you are also getting back in shape for your cross country season.

    anyways, ask ur mom to stop buying icecream, and tell ur friends to make u stop when u go for icecream with them

  17. i know this sounds crazy but...

    out of all desserts

    icecream isn't the worst

    just try and limit your portions, and if your gonna be eating it alot i recommend buying a cheap variety to save on both money and calories! the more expensive brands are unhealthier as they contain more fat from double cream.

    also, try yogurt as a healthy and yummy alternative, topped with honey.

    an ultimate icecream tasting drink you'll love-

    200ml soy or regular milk (i like soya)

    1 frozen banana (deskin, bag and freeze) chopped into bits

    blend

    =icecream tasting lovely thick shake, use less milk for icecream

    healthy and use vanilla essence if you want extra flavor

  18. definitely try switching to frozen yogurt. try topping it with fruits instead of chocolate syrup and limit your portion sizes.
