I got a new spring on the rod that goes into the square plastic lift in the back of the icemaker compartment of the subject side by side refrigerator above (1996). When you move the front control to cubes, press on the dispenser pad,the actuator opens the delivery for cubes (I tape the door switch so the light goes out and the delivery system can work and I can see what is going on) but the worm drive does not turn to move the cubes forward to the outlet.
If I move it back to crushed ice setting, the actuator cause the opening not to allow cubes, the worm drive is engaged and moves the cubes forward to give me crushed ice.
What needs fixed to correct this problem? A switch needs to be replaced?
Where can I get directions for fixing the problem?
