  1. I'm not a goalie, but I can tell you that ones that are the proper size would probalby help a lot. If you're afraid of price try buying used at a play it again sports or something.

  2. I am an ex-goalie ( ice, but roller for fun) ......I guess I am confused as to what the pants really have on impeding your butterfly ability.  If the pants were too, small...then OK, but if you say "you are not cheap" an you bought a pair of pants that were sooooo big they bunched up sooooo much that you couldn't do the butterfly than I would question your ability to not only play goalie, but the claim that you can do the butterfly in the first place.  This is based on your ability on two accounts:  1 to make "good" decisions and 2 to outfit yourself for optimum play.   If the pants are "truly" the problem then GET NEW PANTS and Stop being Cheap.  Problem solved.

That was kinda harsh, sorry.  Let me ask you this:  Are you sure it is the pants that are hindering your stance?  I have found that sometimes the Leg pads are an obstruction to the butterfly in roller hockey.  They tend not to glide as they do on ice, and they get hung up because of it.  There is a way to modify the leg pads to slide better.  Also, the skates can be an issue as well. Just some extra thoughts for you.

  3. i play for the junior lightning, at 14, so theres my help.jk.

get new pads every 6 years, not pads as in elbow, and shoulder, most NHLers wear their shoulders for over 20 years, get new leg pads and blockers every 6 years, return the ones right now~

  4. don't be a cheapskate. sell the pants and get a pair that fit better.

didn't know you were 14 .. but regardless, better fitting pads will improve your game whereas those that are too big will hinder it.

  5. You definitely need to be buying equipment that fits if you want to be at your best. If you buy anything the wrong size it only going to make you slower or less flexible.
